​Concert and Assignment Announcements

Only two-and-a-bit weeks left of music classes!  I must admit, this crept up on me, so I'm making some final adjustments in this final push.  Here's what student musicians and their families need to know;

Concert Delayed, Fitting More Recordings In

We are getting passed the technical difficulties, and are nearly ready to air the show.  However, being as there are only a couple of weeks left, we will be recording some more performances for the show.
Raider's March Only.  The first is our marching band playing Raider's March.  It is a staple for our bands, and we will record ourselves performing it.  We had also been preparing YMCA, but with the minimal amount of time left, we will no longer be preparing that song.  We will stick to Raider's March, and we are working to do this recording during the school day.
Massed Band, please reserve June 10 after school.  The second is a Massed Band performance including all the music students across all grades.  We are hoping to achieve a recording of this performance during the school day, but ask that you be prepared to have your students remain after school on June 10, just in case.
Final Concert Date​.  That will place our final concert on June 19, 2021 at 7:00 PM.

Final Written Work

For most bands, Breezin' Thru Theory is the only thing left that doesn't involve instruments.  Students have been assigned their Breezin' Thru Theory work that is outstanding.  Please encourage students to complete this work at home.  Extra instructional videos for most chapters are also available in the Discord and the Google Classroom.
For Seniors and Grade 7s, they have written assignments that were discussed with them or provided to them during online instruction in May (African American Music History, Story Music).  These are now considered bonus assignments that students can choose to do on their own time.

Strings

Our last rehearsal, and our potential recording day for Eine Kleine Nachtmusik is June 15, the last day of classes.  Please note an updated arrangement that will help us to be more confident in our performance has been uploaded to the Discord.

Stage Band

Our last rehearsal, and our potential recording day for In The Mood is June 9.  That means we only have 2 rehearsals left.  We can do this!

Our last official rehearsal is June 9.  We will discuss what we hope to achieve at our next meeting, and what unofficial rehearsals we may book if we feel the desire to do so.
