Music students have an opportunity to sell the remaining stock from the Enterprise and Innovation classes product. Toques are $15, and the Gym Bags are $10. All proceeds will now go to the music department, and will be used to help fund our band camps and trips. But music students need to volunteer to sell these items at the school during lunch hour and during the occasional basketball game. They can sign up for a shift, and as long as there are two people per shift, those shifts will be operating. We're using SignUp.com to organize our student volunteers to sell these items. Term-End Reminder of AssignmentsThis is also a final reminder to families that all music students in Grades 7-12, including Stage Band students, had assignments due on December 21. These assignments will be reflected in upcoming report cards. Hello families of Senior High Winds Musicians! I distributed information about the Senior Winds Trip last week before their last rehearsal, including the permission form, which is due February 8, 2019. An updated form (without typos) is attached. Please help your students keep on top of this task while they are on exam break and will not get a regular reminder from me. Rooming assignments and activities won't be booked until all forms are turned in by February 8. No additional chaperones are required. Please also note the updated due-date for the fees for this trip. The $300 fee is due March 1, 2019. Notre Dame Collegiate endeavors to make every learning opportunity affordable so that every student can participate, however understand the significance of a $300 fee to any family budget. Although we still need to see payment, if arrangements need to be made to lessen the burden, please contact Janet Bennett at the school. Janet is at the school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. While on Exam BreakEvery student should have already submitted their List A recordings. If this is missing, it will have a significant impact on their mark. Senior High Students should also be complete their Breezin' Thru Theory Chapters 4, 5 6 and 26. They can complete this on any device connected to the internet. Your students have also selected their List B and C pieces, and should be working on those selections right now. They have also registered their choices for performance in the solos section of the Highwood Lions Music Festival. Even though we don't have classes, they should still keep on top of their musical studies so as to not feel pressured for success in the second semester. They can practice their festival pieces, Donkey Riding and Air for Band to ensure they are maintaining what we have already worked on. Please accept this message as a reminder that your student's permission form is due this coming Friday (January 25) for the Band Camp on March 8 and 9, 2019. Every student needs to return this form by that due date. Once that due date has passed, rooming assignments and activity selections will be completed, but not before all forms are turned in by January 25, 2019. Please also note that the deadline for submitting the fees for this trip is February 15, 2019. At Notre Dame Collegiate, we endeavor to make every learning opportunity possible regardless of financial circumstance, so if you have such a challenging circumstance, please contact the school and ask for Mrs. Bennett to help you out with this.
