Performing In Concerts is MandatoryAs your student is enrolled in a performance-based class, performing publicly is a significant component of your student's mark in their music classes. This Christmas Concert is one occasion where this occurs. Please remember that Performances account for 40% of a student's music mark. Participating also enables students to be prepared for a Responding Assignment, which also contributes to their overall music mark.
One Reason Why Our Music Program is So Successful is because We Support and Mentor Each Other.Older students help our music program succeed by being mentors for younger students. They lead younger musicians to seek the best in themselves, and in doing so older musicians tend to find the best in themselves along the way.
Younger students help our music program succeed by opening themselves to the inspiration of older musicians. A young musician can learn what is possible for them by listening to other musicians perform.
All musicians thrive on their audiences, especially their peers and fellow musicians from other grades.
That's why we put such an emphasis on inviting students and their families to attend each other's concerts. Please, where possible, make an effort to attend one another's concerts!
Music is enjoyed more fully as a community. We'll see you all there on December 11!
