The 2024 Christmas Concerts are coming December 11, 2024!

2024 Christmas Concerts

Admission is by Donation (Cash, Debit, Credit and Cheque accepted) or by Food Bank Donation, which will be accepted at the door.

No Pre-Purchased Tickets For This Show ... Come With Donations of Your Choosing!

The NDC School Council will also be providing a concession, so cash is recommended.

What Students Will Need To Know

(and Families can help them out with)

Band Uniform

  • White Shirt with no logos (Band Jacket will be supplied, but must be shared with students playing in the other concert)
  • Black Pants (not jeans or tights)
  • Black Socks (they never get dirty)
  • Black Closed-Toe Shoes (no other colours)

Student Expectations

  • Arrive 30 minutes prior to your Concert start so that you can Warm-Up Tune-Up in your assigned Green Room
  • Wear Your Uniform through your whole Concert
  • Sit in the audience for your entire Concert to support all musicians in the program.
  • You may leave after you have cleaned up from your Concert, but you are encouraged to stay to listen to your colleagues in the other Concert and for your Responding Assignment
  • Post Concert Expectation - You will have a Responding Assignment where you are to respond to a concert you recently attended.  Staying for the other division's concert will help you complete that assignment.

Performing In Concerts is Mandatory

As your student is enrolled in a performance-based class, performing publicly is a significant component of your student's mark in their music classes.  This Christmas Concert is one occasion where this occurs.  Please remember that Performances account for 40% of a student's music mark.  Participating also enables students to be prepared for a Responding Assignment, which also contributes to their overall music mark.

One Reason Why Our Music Program is So Successful is because We Support and Mentor Each Other.

Older students help our music program succeed by being mentors for younger students.  They lead younger musicians to seek the best in themselves, and in doing so older musicians tend to find the best in themselves along the way.

Younger students help our music program succeed by opening themselves to the inspiration of older musicians.  A young musician can learn what is possible for them by listening to other musicians perform.

All musicians thrive on their audiences, especially their peers and fellow musicians from other grades.

That's why we put such an emphasis on inviting students and their families to attend each other's concerts.  Please, where possible, make an effort to attend one another's concerts!

Music is enjoyed more fully as a community.  We'll see you all there on December 11!
