Strings Excursions

The St. Cecilia String Ensemble has never had a proper workshop trip, and it has been a very long time since NDC participated in our local festival.  With this plan, we get both!  We will take one day at Mount Royal University with their fantastic musicians, and a separate day altogether for the Highwood Lions Music Festival.

8:15 AM - Depart Notre Dame Collegiate for Mount Royal University
9:00 AM - Arrive at Mount Royal University, distribute to clinics
9:30 AM - Sectional Clinics
11:30 AM - Clinician Recital (clinicians perform for the students)
12:00 PM - Bag Lunch
12:30 PM - Guest Conductor Workshop
2:30 PM - Depart
3:15 PM - Back at NDC
Please note your student needs to be at NDC by 8:15, so taking the bus to school in the morning might make them late. Also, your student may not make it back in time to catch a school bus home, depending on traffic in Calgary, but we will make every effort to make that happen.

This is a non-school day in lieu of Parent-Student-Teacher Interviews, so please plan accordingly.
12:30 PM - Students arrive at High River United Church by their own means with their instruments and music.
1:00 PM - Performance in the Children's Space at the High River United Church.
1:30 PM - Depart.

What Students Will Need:

• Working tuned instrument, pencil, sheet music
• Cash for lunch
• Band Uniform on March 24 only

We will need a single female chaperone for this trip to join us.  If you are able, please email Mr. Windsor directly to indicate your availability.
