We did it! We got the Band Camp rescheduled!
Our new band camp dates are May 3 and 4, 2019. This is still a Friday and Saturday. Although the educational goals will be different, the format will largely be the same.
One minor inconvenience ... I need you to fill out paperwork again. I need permission forms with medical information submitted once again, as the previous forms will not suffice for this trip. I'm sorry for that inconvenience. Deadline for returning forms is April 16, 2019.
All students in Grade 8/9 Band can participate, even if they weren't able to for the original trip.
I'm also in need of at least 6 chaperones, with a minimum of 3 females and minimum of 2 males. Please also indicate on the forms if you are able to help out as chaperones on this trip.
Our Senior Trip is coming up quick, and we are about ready to leave! It is a busy musical time for you, so please be prepared. The Itinerary is as follows;

We are looking for 5 student volunteers to help the Gift of Music COncert Series in High River with their upcoming concert on March 30, 2019!
Students who agree to volunteer would arrive at the High River United Church at 6:45 PM, be ushers, greeters or other simple helpers, and get the opportunity to enjoy world-class music free of charge. This upcoming concert features two Juno Award-Winners in Suzie LeBlanc and Daniel Taylor. It is a must-see must-hear! The concerts tend to end around 9:30-10:00 PM.
Students would also receive Community Service Hours and points towards our Hall of Fame for their support of music in our community.

I am pleased to inform you that we have organized a trip for Junior Concert Band students to the Strathmore Music Festival on April 1, 2019. This is the festival that we have been preparing for, and therefore is a mandatory excursion for marks in this class.
As it is a mandatory activity, there are no fees for this trip. Please provide consent for me to take your students for them to participate for marks in this activity by returning the attached form by March 28, 2019. The Medical Report must be complete, especially with Alberta Health Care Number or similar health care insurance information. The student must also sign the permission form as must the parent or guardian. We must have forms in by March 28, 2019 so that we can complete our bookings for all trip activities.
We are also in need of at least 3 chaperones for this trip. Please fill out the Chaperone Participation Form if you are interested and able to chaperone. Mr. Windsor will assist you with all the paperwork required of chaperones to make the process as comfortable as possible.

Although I am still looking for one more chaperone, I am planning rooming assignments. Please have your student fill out the form to help me make the best choices. They will need to log in using their Redeemer Google Accounts to complete the form.
Further, if you can be a chaperone, we still need one more. A chaperone need not be a parent; an aunt, uncle or grandparent would be a great addition to the trip. Please email me if you can help.
We have some wonderful news, in that our school has received a grant that will help us start a String Ensemble program at Notre Dame Collegiate. We need your feedback to make the plans for this, as well as changes to our Concert schedule at the end of the year, work best. Please complete the survey, whether your student is interested in learning a string instrument or not.
Your feedback will also help us plan for such new programs in the 2019-2020 school year.

- Regardless, we will stop somewhere on our way home for dinner.

- NOT OPTIONAL. Kids found not to have these clothes will not be coming on the trip, and there are no refunds at this point. They will be asked to show this at school on Friday.
- 3 changes of clothes, just in case one of those changes gets wet
- BAG LUNCH, as we will be eating a bag lunch for our first meal once we arrive at camp.
- Debit Card/Prepaid VISA/Cash for supper on Saturday night
